Funny, outrageous, surreal, shocking, ironic and absolutly unique his work within the fashion, advertising and fine art photography is inspiring.
His first job experience was in Interview Magazine, created by Andy Warhol in 1969.
LaChapelle has four published books of his photographs, including LaChapelle Land and Hotel LaChapelle, both containing vivid and bizarre portraits of celebrities such as Marylin and Shirley Manson, Naomi Campbell, David Beckman, Drew Barrymore, Courtney Love, Lance Armstrong, Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz and Uma Thurman.
LaChapelle's film Rize, a documentary on the krumping style of dance in South Central Los Angeles, premiered at Sundance in 2005 and was released theatrically that summer.
